Founded in 2008 as Pulsar Engineering by Bongani Khumalo, our mission has been to elevate the standards of engineering, instrumentation, and infrastructure in South Africa.
2020 - 2021
Strategic Growth into Construction & Civil Works
Rebranded as Pulsar Africa Systems (PTY) Ltd in 2014, we expanded from systems into civil, building, and structural construction — launching Pulsar Africa Construction in 2022 and Pulsar Africa Mining in 2023.
2023 - Current
A Multi-Divisional Group Delivering End-to-End Solutions
Now structured as the Pulsar Group — with Systems, Construction, and Mining divisions — we deliver integrated, multi-disciplinary services to our clients across industries.

Pulsar Africa was born out of a clear understanding of the challenges facing the local instrumentation industry — from a shortage of technically skilled professionals to a lack of black-owned firms offering deep instrumentation expertise.
Our Service Evolution
As we evolved, so did our service offering. Ongoing research, on-site experience, and client demand led us to expand beyond systems into civil, building, and structural construction. This expansion gave rise to Pulsar Africa Construction, officially launched in 2022.
